I made a couple of major changes to the server last night, and I think you will notice a great difference in page load times.
I’ve been doing a lot of design work these past couple weeks. I’m looking forward to posting news of a few new fraternity and sorority websites being hosted by Chaptercore very soon!
There is still 1 slot left to get in on the introductory design promotion, so act now
Pricing is always an interesting problem for companies. You’ve possibly spent years developing a product, and now it’s time to finally get paid for it. How much do you charge?
I don’t remember where I first saw this graph, but here’s the idea:

The trick is to find the spot in the middle where your pricing accurately represents the quality of your product. If you charge too much, you’re dumb because people won’t pay for your product. If you charge too little, you’re dumb because you will be taken advantage of.
That leads me to the announcement:
Monthly fee dropped to $25 and setup fee dropped to $150!
As I mentioned earlier, years of development have already been put into Chaptercore. We think it is a terrific product and is worth every penny that we planned to charge for it. However, with much thought, we have decided to drop prices!
Our hope is to always just barely make it out of the bottom section of “dumb companies” to give you the best possible product for the price.
The contact page has been updated with an HTML form. As much as I hate them, it should save a few steps while coordinating through email.
The only required fields are your name, email and a message, but you are encouraged to fill out as much information as possible. This will help us better serve you.
If you dislike filling out online forms as much as I do, you can still send me an email. The link is on the contact page.
I’ve added a new section to the website for resources to help you create a great website. The plan is to write short tutorials on web development techniques that you might find useful. There will also be resources with techniques for advanced Chaptercore theme editing.
The first article, Floating Images will teach you how to “float” images and other elements within your pages.
To get the ball rolling, the first 5 fraternities or sororities will get the setup fee cut in half and a free completely custom design!1
For just $100 to start, your organization will get a professionally designed website and help building your website. If you want a website that looks awesome and is incredibly powerful, you have to cash in on this deal. Don’t you want a website that blows the rest of the chapters on campus away?
Head over the contact page and send Jay an email to get started.
1 You will have to sign up for a minimum 6 month contract to be eligible for the discount.
Finally, after a pseudo-launch in 2008, months of private beta testing and probably 15 re-designs, Chaptercore.com is finally launched to the public! Expect big changes to the website in the coming weeks as more resources and information is added.
Chaptercore started as just an idea for an extremely flexible system that allowed people with little to no web experience to administer a great fraternity or sorority website. From public-facing web pages to private message forums, you will find that Chaptercore has many features that can aid your chapter’s communication needs.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the private beta tests. You were invaluable in making Chaptercore what it is today.
